Arvia MacKaye Ege (1902-1989), was among the early American anthroposophists living in Dornach when Rudolf Steiner was alive, while she was still a very young woman. Her entire adult life was devoted to enlivening the world through anthroposophical spiritual science—in her own art, and especially in her pioneering work for the practical arts in Waldorf education. She was a co-founder of the Hawthorne Valley "Farm School" and of Adonis Press.
